Swimming Pool : Our pool one year after construction
Our pool one year after construction
gleen: Very nice!
bruce: Awesome setup!
nikole: Very nice! And looks relaxing
melissa: Hello 🙂 Can anyone tell me if I should get a ozone generator and chlorine tablets instead of using a salt cell? My pool people are here and I just bought a new salt cell but they are saying I could replace our ozone generator and get chlorine tablets and it will do a better job disinfecting the pool. They also said I would use less muriatic acid. Thoughts?
amber: The salt cell makes chlorine … so it basically takes the place of the tablet (sans extra stabilizer) and the ozone does effectively kill bacteria but not enough without help of a chlorine (of some sort) …. it is true you won’t use as much muriatic acid… An alternate option, if you already have an ozone generator is to keep the salt cell and use ozone in conjunction.
melissa: Thank you! Our salt cell needs to be replaced so I am trying to figure out if the ozone generator and in line chlorinate is the better option. There is about a $300.00 price difference. I hate using muriatic acid so if this helps lessen the amount that would be awesome!
amber: Do you have a sand, DE, or cartridge filter? There are some variables to consider depending on type of filter. I dislike muriatic acid too! Definitely prefer dry acid for safety & use reasons…
lori : Salt only for us! Love it! Low maintenance and perfect pool!
jeff: Ozone is worthless without chlorine. It really doesn’t help much in a large body of Water. Don’t waste your money on Ozone. Just do the salt system or use chlorine and tablets. There are other natural products out there that work well to reduce your chemical demand and keep your pool crystal clear like the Pool Rx, etc.
melisa: I ended up getting a new salt cell! Thank you to everyone that gave me advice!
