Laura: So we got this pool and it’s being filled w water tonight, first time owner of a pool other than an intex, any tips or advice? I believe I got it under control, as soon as we have enough water to run the pump I will add chemicals but other than that I don’t really know anything else. We are super excited to finally have a real pool, this is my biggest life goal as a child was too own a pool!
gleen: Troublefreepool.com, check out ABC’s of water chemistry and pool school
laura: Thank you, I did look a bit already.
der: I am starting to think you own stock in that website.
glen: I wish! Not that smart. I doubt them fancy JP Morgan types are schlepping jugs of bleach for their pool.
desi: Looks great! Congrats and enjoy!!
amb: Congrats! Good thing about pool water maintenance is… it’s the same whether you have 5000 gallons or 100k … treat chemicals the same only larger doses depending on gallons … only difference may be vacuuming depending on how you did it before… Enjoy your weekend! Happy Swimming!
laura: Lol before I just went around and kicked the dirt up w my foot and used the net, I bet I won’t be doing that anymore!
anthony: Was just curious from the photo is looks like an oval shape pool. Your straight side on the pool looks like it just has regular upright’ s. Shouldn’t it have been built with butresses?
laura: It’s actually what they call a “pole pool”, those posts w the cable across help support the pool. It now has a volleyball net across the posts as well.
anthony: I have never saw anything like it before.
mike: it has thick angle flat stock in buttress “uprights”. Called space savers.
