Swimming Pool : Looking some advice on what to do with our pool build
Ane: Looking some advice on what to do with our pool build. Really disappointed the way the waterfall turn out. 1st picture is what it got, 2nd one was one of the many similar style of rock waterfall we wanted. Wife was crying over how bad it looks. It’s been two weeks since it was done. Been talking here and there on some addon fixes but not sure how it can add on to make it even look half decent. The builder never mention or talked about when the rock was being build. We came home one day from work and found this tower of rocks that they call a waterfall that hardly looks like what we wanted.
erin: In a roundabout way, it is similar to the other pic, but on a smaller scale. Maybe more large stones out on the sides? Are they not going to finish the tile work underneath the fountain? They sure left it unfinished, didn’t they?
ane: We stop everything called the company, sales guy, and Forman. They said that’s how it going to look and they didn’t see nothing wrong with it. Only person that says they will try to fix it is the sales guy. We had text communication regarding the style we wanted. Seems like there was a lost in communication with Forman and sub contractor. Right now we waiting on a day for the tile company to be available so we can be here to monitor and instruct them on how we want it fix.
leah: Omg I wouldn’t be happy!
Was it because they were trying to do that on a smaller scale to fit a budget or is that exactly what you thought you were getting?
ane: Poor sub contractor builder. Was trying to do a bit modern look but most of the builders here are still old fashion. We went through 7 different pool contractors hoping they could do what we want but waterfalls seems to be an issue with most since it does require some thought and design into it. What they did looks like someone that never done a rock waterfall before. It’s a tile sub contractor that did this.
margaret: Have you paid for this already? What’s the pool company saying as far as payment goes?
Also, would going to the better business bureau help? (I don’t know so I’m asking)
ane: Wife sent the check because she thought it was the tile only payment but it was tile and rock waterfall. We’ll give it another week and if no one comes back we may have to contact the California state licensed board to step in to help.
robyn: Rocks like that for landscape in my area are close to $200 a piece.
namie: I’d stop all work until things are squared away and review everything with the pool builder … this absolutely sucks! We once had to fire a contractor midway because they didn’t do the right thing or mislead us (we were getting stone walkways and surrounding landscaping put in) … we had no walkways for about a month … we found the right contractor that cleaned up their mess and made it right so hopefully it works out for you!!!
Like anything else we had to pay for the screw up but in the end we got what we wanted and didn’t settle … lesson learned!!!
melissa: I’m sorry I agree with your wife, unsightly !! I’d definitely be complaining and getting it fixed!!!
naime: Also if there are pools you like ask people who they used … have other contractors come out and see what they can do and the cost. You’ll be happy in the long run as I said above
william: You are showing a before and after pic. When you are done and landscaping is in it will be a smaller version of the other.
