So what are the right conditions for a half buried pool? Have you seen these half-in, half-out pools and fallen in love with the dynamic design of sunken pool depths? Or are you desperate for a sanctuary in the backyard, but does your garden make the design difficult, if not impossible?

The fact is that almost everyone -can- have a semi-underground pool. All you have to do is excavate about half the depth you need for a fully buried pool and then build the sides of your pool at the right height. Semi-dug pools can also be more decorative than buried pools because you have a protruding side of the pool that can be built into your garden. Having said that, some construction sites are therefore better suited to semi-in-ground pools than others.

How a Yard Influences Your Pool Design
Everything from the soil composition to the size and shape of your garden can determine the right type of pool to build. How easy it is to dig, how much it rains and how much space you need to build. Large yards can of course support a larger pool, but even small yards can be used to create deep, beautiful pools. And sometimes a multi-layered design is needed for your garden. No matter what kind of garden you have, the natural elements will affect how you build your pool.
